Find Your Inner-Eighties Vintage Lover

Vintage clothing isn’t just about the 50s and 60s – there are many new season trends that continue to embrace the best of 80s fashion – think biker jackets, slogan T-shirts, coral and pink shirts and vintage Levi’s cut-off shorts. So this week, I’ve decided to focus on just these things – no 50s glamour or 60s boho to see here – today it’s all about the excellent eighties…

I recently discovered an online vintage store that does rather a nice line in classic 80s Americana – flannel, denim, sheepskin, parkas, they’ve got the lot. And with this Harper and Lewis Vintage vouchercode, you can claim a rather useful 10% off your order. For a little taste of their selection, take a look at these Vintage 80s Retro Jumpers (£19.99 before discount) and this Vintage Leather Biker Jacket (£49.99 before discount).

Dorothy Perkins is always a great place to search for online, on-trend bargains – they may be as high street as it gets, but don’t write them off or you might be missing out on some choice pieces. This Dorothy Perkins voucher code gets you £10 off when you spend £50 or more and I tracked down this gorgeous Coral Sleeveless Shirt (£20 before discount) that wouldn’t look out of place in a John Hughes movie. Also available is this Petite Blush Quilted Biker Jacket – it’s on sale at £41.95, reduced from £49.99, so you can’t include it as part of the money off voucher code, but still a great deal nevertheless.

Forever 21 is a bargain hunter’s paradise. Again, yes it’s high street personified, but with so many items coming in at under a £10, you can’t complain can you? No, you can’t. And in the context of my 80s retro theme, I had a look at this Forever 21 voucher code that gets you up to 70% off selected items. And boy am I glad I did because I found these Bold Geo Harem Pants reduced from £11.50 to just £6.99, this Secret Rebel Rose Fringe Vest, reduced from £42.75 to an astonishing £19.99 and this La Vie Baseball Tee (nailing the slogan trend in one swoop), reduced from £12 to £8.99.

The 80s trends have been around again for so long now, that I really think they might be here to stay, occupying a permanent place in fashion much like other retro stylings do. So even if you don’t want to embrace a full-on eighties look, try picking out a few choice items to power-up your wardrobe. But be warned, there’s only a select few who can pull off shoulder pads…

Vintage-Inspired Spring Dresses

It’s true, I write about dresses quite a lot on this blog but that’s only because there is a dress for all seasons and I think this needs to be celebrated - buying a new dress is a great way to ring in the new weather and the start of a new wardrobe. So here we are at the start of March and you know what this means – dress time again. With the warmer weather, my mind turns to thoughts of floaty (ish) floral tea dresses and sleeveless numbers. So I’ve picked out three shops that have a great selection of discounted stock and voucher codes to get you started on that spring dress-buying binge…

If you haven’t ordered from M&Co before, I suggest you take a look at their website pronto – they may be a high street store that caters for pretty much every generation but they also do a rather nice line in attractive vintage-look dresses. This M&Co voucher code gets you 20% off your first order and my picks are the Nautical Striped Prom Dress (£55 before discount), the Bird Print Tea Dress (£39 before discount) and the Floral Tea Dress (£45 before discount).

If you read this blog regularly, you will need no introduction to Yumi Direct. Indeed, they might just be my very favourite dress store and their clearance site is a place of beauty and wonder. This Yumi Direct voucher codeis always well worth a look as you get up to 55% off a wide selection of stock, including pages and pages of dresses to suit even the most fervent of vintage nuts. My personal picks this week are the Yumi Polka Dot and Boat Print Dress (was £45, now only £22.50), the Yumi Rose Print Dress (was £45, now only £22) and the Iska Bird Print Sleeveless Dress (was £30, now only £21).

And lastly, this Apricot voucher code is something a bit special – where else can you find such a wide selection of gorgeous dress, many of which are only a rather amazing £10? Not too many places, I’ll bet. A lot of the clearance stock is from the autumn and winter collections, but I still managed to find a few that were perfect for the warmer weather too, namely the Colour Block Shift Dress, the Black Olive Branch Tea Dress and the Black Polka Dot Tiered Belted Dress. And yes, all of these are only £10 each. Yep, you read that correctly, £10 each.

I LOVE the spring. Actually, I love the start of any new season (mainly spring and autumn), because this means dresses. And new clothes in general, to be honest. So check by in next week for more spring time gorgeousness.
